My name got misspelled again PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 05 January 2008

Sometimes it's hard having an unusual name. For instance, I got a good review of my work from the faculty show, but my name got misspelled in the newspaper.

As such, the wife and I have decided on having more normal names for the little boy.

For a while I was championing 'Ronin Maverick'. My buddy Kyle talked me out of that one by saying, "If you kid is not an utter bad ass, he's going to get beat up every day."

That more than anything was the most compelling arguement.

But I think there's some value in having an unusual name. How many 'John Doe's' are famous in history?

I read an article about a two brothers one named Winner and the other named Loser. Loser was successful at life because he had nowhere to go but up. Winner was a failure and couldn't live up to his name.

But overall, I like my name. I like being unique. Hopefully, it will be a name that will be remembered.

Here is a link to the full review.
