I was talking to the wife about giving our leftover Nutrisystem food to the church for the homeless. I had already dropped off one unopened box last month. It had shipped out before we cancelled with Nutrisystem. I'm not going to knock them per se. I did lose weight with their food, but I got tired of eating it.

So in the pantry we have 2 months of food left and I was going to give it to the church, but I decided that I'm going to finish it off. As I'm not working this quarter, we're going to have less money and in general, we should be eating out less.

Just before Christmas I hoped on the scale. It read 265. This is the biggest I had ever been in my life. This is also partly influencing my desire to finish off the Nutrisystem. It irks me to be giving away hundreds of dollars worth of food.

So for a week or so I had been eating it again and I dropped down to 255. I know that I was going to miss eating sushi and what not so I thought I would treat myself one last time before going cold turkey on the sushi.

I went to Makino's on Eastern again and was preparing myself for a nice meal. Unfortunately I got there just after the lunch rush and at the start of 'Happy Hour.' I got a few pieces of good sushi, but that was it. I was pretty much damned disappointed by everything else. The noodles had gotten hard and dry and no one had taken enough of them for them to change out the tray. The same for the fried rice. Also some fool put an assload of cabbage into the miso soup. Who puts cabbage in miso?

It was a very disappointing experience. Totally out of character with what I was accustomed to. It sucked that I was treating myself to a final good meal and this was it. I left with the only satisfaction of knowing I was only paying $11.95 for their holiday pricing. I won't be going back there for a while.

So now it's back to Nutrisystem. I actually felt like my stomach had shrunk in size. At Makino's, I ate my normal amount of food, but it was actually painfully uncomfortable after starting Nutrisystem. My Nutrisystem goal now is to finish off their food before it hits the expiration date.
